Terms of Use

Last updated: September 1, 2026
These are the terms of use for the WisoCare app.

By using the WisoCare application (the "App") you agree to the following terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

NOT A MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS

WisoCare is not a medical device or diagnostic tool. All analyses and recommendations are for informational purposes only. For skin issues, treatment planning, or diagnosis, always consult a dermatologist. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a chronic skin condition, validate recommendations with your doctor. Test recommended actives or routines on a small patch before use. Stop use if an allergic reaction occurs.

Service Scope

WisoCare provides skin analyses through on-device image processing and AI-assisted interpretation; it also parses product ingredient lists and lets you chat with Wiso. Photos never leave your device; only text and numerical data are sent to the cloud.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the app. This limit is not arbitrary: to produce personalised advice the app processes health data (your allergies, the medicines you take, pregnancy status, menstrual cycle) and relies on explicit consent to do so. In many European countries the valid age for consent-based online services is 16.

Account Terms

Account creation is optional. If you create one:

  • You must provide accurate and current information
  • You are responsible for the security of your account
  • You must not share your account with others
  • We may suspend accounts used for abuse

Acceptable Use

The following are prohibited:

  • Reverse-engineering or attempting to access the source code
  • Automated scraping or use of bots
  • Collecting others' data without consent
  • Use for unlawful purposes
  • Submitting harmful/inappropriate content to the AI

User Content

The photos you take never leave your device and are not uploaded to a server. What is sent to OpenAI for AI interpretation is: processed numerical skin metrics; your survey and profile answers (skin type, age range, goals, lifestyle); if you have given explicit consent, your health information (your allergies, the medicines you take, pregnancy status, menstrual cycle); the names of the products in your routine and the ones you scan; if you allow location, your city and the current weather; and the chat messages you write to Wiso. If you sign in with an account, your profile and analysis history (excluding photos) are backed up to the cloud in encrypted form; you can turn this off and delete it from Settings at any time.

Product scanning

Product scanning is an informational feature based on the ingredient list read from the label and on general sources; it does not score products, is not medical advice, and does not replace the information on the packaging. Its limits:

  • The assessment is based on the list you confirm; the reading can be wrong, so always compare the ingredient list against the packaging.
  • The order of an ingredient list carries no concentration information; that an ingredient appears says nothing about how much of it the product contains.
  • The information is based on individual ingredients; a finished product behaves differently from its ingredients taken one by one.
  • That an ingredient is not mentioned does not mean the product is free of concerns for you.
  • Allergy and sensitivity warnings are generated only from the information you have declared and are not a substitute for a medical allergy test.
  • Product information may be out of date; manufacturers can change a formulation without notice.

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a health condition, discuss product choices with your doctor.

User Contributions

When you confirm the ingredient list of a product that you scanned from the label yourself or typed in, we send the product name, brand, barcode and the recognised ingredient names to our shared product database as a contribution. This is on by default and you can turn it off in Settings. When a contribution is sent:

  • You grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide permission to use, reproduce and distribute it within the app, in order to improve the app and to show it to other people scanning the same product.
  • You confirm that the information you send is your own reading of the physical packaging in your hand, that it was not copied from another source, and that it does not infringe the rights of third parties. So that you can make this statement truthfully, lists found by searching the web are never sent to the pool.
  • The contribution is not linked to your account and contains no identifying information about you, no photo and no unreadable raw text. Only a random installation-specific id is attached, and that exists solely to count how many different devices reported the same list.
  • Contributions are reviewed before publication; we do not undertake to use every contribution.

Open Data and Licences

Part of WisoCare's product catalogue comes from Open Beauty Facts contributors and is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL) v1.0. As that licence requires, the database we derive from that source is kept freely downloadable at:

https://www.wisocare.com/data/

The app's hand-curated data, user contributions and data from other official sources are kept in separate files and are not covered by the ODbL. Ingredient function information comes from the European Commission's CosIng inventory (CC BY 4.0, modified).

Intellectual Property

The WisoCare brand, logo, Wiso character, visual design, and software are the intellectual property of the developer. Open-source components are used under their respective licenses (see Open Source Licenses).

Premium / Subscription

Future premium features and subscription terms will be announced separately. Subscriptions are managed by App Store / Google Play; payment, refund, and cancellation rules are governed by the platform store's terms.

Warranty Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is". No guarantee is given of uninterrupted or error-free operation or of fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for service disruptions caused by third-party outages (OpenAI, Firebase, RevenueCat, WeatherAPI, Sentry, Google AdMob, Meta, Apple).

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Total liability shall not exceed payments made in the last 12 months (zero for free users).

Termination

We may suspend or close your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account and uninstall the app at any time.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye and disputes will be resolved in the Istanbul Central Courts and Enforcement Offices. Your rights as a consumer are reserved: where consumer legislation gives you the right to apply to the court at your place of residence or to a consumer arbitration committee, this clause does not limit that right. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this clause does not deprive you of the mandatory consumer protections of your own country.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
